Whats the difference between POE splitter & PoE Injector?
An injector supplies power through the network cable to a device that is POE capable. A splitter also supplies power to a device but the main difference is that it splits the power from the data to a separate input that the device can use. It will have two cables for output: one for data and one for power. Splitters are useful for deploying devices such as access points that are not POE ready and where there are no nearby AC outlets.
In CCTV systems, a POE splitter would take the place of a 12VDC power supply for IP cameras when the IP camera does not have builtin PoE splitter.
